This teeny-tiny little bundle of adorableness is Master John Thomas! At barely six pounds, this little baby was so sweet! And, his perfect little features and soft blonde hair just so wonderful. He didn’t really want to sleep for his session, but his doting parents did a wonderful job at keeping him happy for the portrait session despite his protests! I so enjoyed meeting this family. So happy for you guys! John Thomas is just perfect. Congratulations! 🙂

Wooo-wheeee!!! I am in LOVE with all of these images. I think that this background is one of my new favorites. So clean, classic and a focus on the subject. I love all of these families, and couldn’t be happier for all of them with the fabulous new portraits that they will soon having adorning their walls and homes. That’s enough from me. …to the Fall of last year! This precious family is one of my absolute favorites to photograph! I’ve been photographing them since sweet Brooke, the oldest sister, was an only child many years ago. As the years have gone by, the “B” family just keeps growing and growing!! In these photographs, there are five precious children. And, only a week or so after this session, another sweet boy was added to this family as well. What a JOY and blessing!  I love how Beth always uses her own home as the background of her portrait sessions, giving her kids not only memories of one another; but, also memories of the home they are growing up in as well.

It is impossible to spend time with this family, and not share in their happiness. They exude love, kindness, and just the joy of one another and the knowledge of the gifts the God has granted to them. These photos were taken for their family Christmas card back in the Fall, and though we chose not to blog them at the time to save them for the card, I just couldn’t stand not to share a few more of this amazing group of kids and their sweet parents. John and Beth, I always love spending time with your family. Your family is all about joy, and I just love that!! Thanks for sharing them with me!

Oh, what a sweet little boy! I had so much fun with this wonderful family on Friday as we welcomed sweet Matthew in his first official portrait session! What a little hunk of love! And, all that hair? Swoon! He really was determined that he was NOT going to go to sleep and miss out on the big party. haha! But, finally, he tuckered out and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful spring temperatures and do some shoots outdoors. Outdoor newborn photos are my favorite. So beautiful! Matthew is going to be a series regular on the blog over the next year. Cannot wait to see him grow! Congratulations, Kate and Matt! So happy for your wonderful family! 🙂 

I’m starting to believe it, are you? Spring is coming!! It is finally starting to warm-up up outside and the sun, which it seems we haven’t seen in weeks, is shining brightly! It’s a beautiful day in Memphis, TN! I’m dreaming of warmer nights grilling out, fresh fruits and veggies from the farmer’s markets, colorful flowers, and soft, green grass beneath my feet. Ahhh….

How is a Mini Session different from a regular session? Well, it lasts about 15 minutes and you receive approximately 10-15 fully edited custom images. You’d be amazed at what I am able to accomplish in just 15 minutes! It’s quick, painless, and it’s over before the kids(or uncooperative Dads!) know it’s even started!

These sessions are perfect for those that don’t want a full session, have a person in your family who just likes things done quick and efficiently, someone who needs gifts for the grandparents for Mother’s or Father’s Day, or just wants a few quick , simple, and lovely portraits of their favorite kiddo! And again this year, we are going digital! No shopping carts, no hard decisions to pick your favorites! You’ll just get them all on a disc and can use them to your liking. PLUS, if you prefer to print with my professional labs, you will receive 20% off any print or canvas item you purchase through 1:17 Photography from your Spring Mini Session.

Due to the great feedback we received from last year’s Mini Sessions, we will once again offer a couple of different dates each at a different location!

The first location, planned for March 27th, will take place in a local field that has wild grasses growing. Take a look at a few blog posts from some sessions that took place in these fields. I just LOVE the soft, simplistic feel that these photographs have-plus they are a decorator’s dream as their neutral colors will work great in any room. I am in love with this session!! This was one of the most fun, loving,  and laid-back newborn sessions ever. This precious little love is Walker, and he is an absolute doll! Those cheeks just get to me. 🙂 And, his big sister, Miss Stella, was his guardian angel the entire time I was there-barely leaving his side and so sweet and loving toward him. I’ve always wanted to do a portrait with a dog and a newborn, so this was a dream for me to photograph. I couldn’t be any happier for Phillip and Elisabeth. Phillip was one of my very first subjects to photograph when I was first trying to get my business started, almost 10 years ago, when he was still in high school. Pretty neat how it’s come full circle now, and I have now photographed his little family. Life is good! Congratulations, y’all! 🙂 Walker is perfect!!

The first baby girl of the year for 1:17 photography’s newborn club was the perfect angel! Sweet Mary Elizabeth barely made a peep throughout her session and was a little star in her first portrait session ever! Her beautiful nursery was the perfect setting for some absolutely adorable photos of this baby. Mom and Dad are so in love with her and it’s easy to see why! 🙂 I can’t wait to see her grow throughout this first year. So happy for this family. Congratulations!
