I am a visual person! Always have been…guess that’s why photography is such a great fit for me. I’ve never been very good with imagining how something might look.  I like to touch it, see it, in person and then I know I’m good with a decision I have made. I assume that I am not the only person out there in the world that lives this way. 🙂 So, for now, 1:17 Photography is trying out something new and different for our sessions beginning this Fall…Proofbooks! The photo lab that I use has always offered these since I began working with them years ago. I always wondered if this might be something that my customers might enjoy. Basically, for an additional fee paid when you purchase your Sitting Fee, you will receive a spiral bound Proofbook of 4×6 prints. You will receive all proofs from your session that are shown in your online proof gallery. My goal is for your Proofbook to arrive at your home at approximately the same time that your proofs will go online for you to purchase through our online shopping cart.
As you can see from the photos below of a book I had done of my children’s beach photos this summer, this will be a great tool to use when making decisions about your purchases. The proofs are 4×6 in size, but have a 1/4″ border around the edge where it will be spiral bound. The prints also have a linen texture on them. This is to help protect me from any scans being done to the photos illegally…it basically makes the scan not very clear, but will not interfere with you being about to see the prints at all. This is the exact same linen texture I use on my prints that are placed on matboard.
I’m really excited to offer this to my customers. I think the little books will be very fun to show off your photos to your friends as well as having a keepsake of every photo from your session. I hope that you will take advantage of this new offer when you schedule your session with us!
If you look carefully on this next one, you can see the linen texture as well as the clear front cover.
Here’s the back cover:

I’m getting to be pretty good at being an Aunt of little girls…this newest addition to the family makes niece number six for me! Meet the newest little angel in our family, Kinsley! She is beautiful and perfect and oh soooo sweet! Today was a first for me because in all of my years of being a photographer, I’ve never had my family accompany me to to a photo session (unless they were in it!). So today, my husband and two kids and all our photography gear loaded up for a 4th of July holiday lunch to Hernando at Kinsley’s house! It was a great way to spend the day. The cousins all played together, and the adults got some time to visit and eat, too. I am so very proud of Brandon and Krissy and their precious family! Grayson, my 3 and 1/2 year old nephew was absolutely WONDERFUL during his part of the session with his new little sister. It is obvious that he is enamored with her. So sweet! And, Miss Kinsley, with her dark features and all that lovely hair, was an angel. Never made a sound and was a great little model for her first of many photo sessions with her Aunt Julie! I love you guys and am so happy for you! Congratulations! And, welcome to the world, Kinsley! We are so glad you are here! 🙂
See…this boy LOVES his little sister! 🙂
Our little diva!

I know that they grow, and they do it quickly, but I couldn’t get over what a big boy Mr.Lucas is now! I photographed him back in early December as a newborn, and he still has his same “little old man” look that he had then. 🙂 This baby has some of the most beautiful skin, translucent almost…so gorgeous. He was so very interested in this new world around him…the textures, the sounds, everything but myself, Mom, Dad, Aunt, and Grandma who tried our best to make him think we were hilarious and make him smile! But, we did it! We managed to be just a little more interesting than the cars, grass, and textures of the old boards in the Arlington Town Square. Sweet baby boy! 🙂
I don’t know why, but I love this serious face!
