I just love, love, love photographing in the cotton fields! There’s just something special about that sea of fluffy white “southern snow” that just seems so peaceful and beautiful to me! I have done Mini Sessions in the cotton fields the last couple of years, but this family wanted to have a full session, not just a few moments, devoted to capturing their sweet little family playing in the cotton. Cooper is such a sweet little boy with an adorable little smile! When he smiles really big, he almost squints he is so happy! π He had such fun just hanging out in the fields as we kept coming up with fun, new things to try to keep his interest! We ended up drawing in the dirt and laughing ALOT! Cooper and his Dad even ended the evening with a “sword” fight…see the last photo below. Whitney and Rusty, you have a wonderful family and Cooper is SO cute! He can come home with me anytime! Thanks for sharing your evening with me! π

September 27, 2011Knox and his family!
September 27, 2011These are my precious friends, David and Suzie and their sweet little man, Knox! We have all been friends for a very long time, and my husband and I love them dearly. I can hardly believe that little Knox is about to be 4 years old in December. I promise you it was just yesterday that we got the phone call that our long-awaited prayers for his adoption had been answered and I was summoned to go and capture his little newborn photos:
And, now, Knox is just a big ol’ boy! He is just a sweetheart of a kid and so very smart! I just love being around him because when you are with him, you just cannot help but to smile. Yes, he is that cute! π Knox’s grandparents also came along for the session, and we were able to capture some sweet moments with the entire family as well as some individual ones of Knox interacting with his family. David and Suzie, I hope you know how much you are loved! And, I kinda like that little boy of yours a little, too…well, okay, I like him ALOT! Enjoy your sneak peek! π
I love the guys faces on this next one, too cute!
And, my favorite little family shot of the day! I was trying to get a photo of just David and Suzie when Knox ran up and “interrupted” our moment. Doesn’t get much cuter than this~
Chandler’s Senior Pics!
September 23, 2011This handsome young man is my neighbor, Chandler! When we first moved into our house a little over three years ago, Chandler was just starting high school. Now, here he is well into his senior year of high school! He is a wonderful young man and I know that his parents are so proud of who he is becoming. He wants to go into Pre-Pharm next year in college! Chandler, his amazing and fun momma, Dena, and I had a beautiful afternoon to do his portraits over at Davies Manor. I had a great time hanging out with them. Dena and Brian, Chandler is an amazing young man. I know you are so very proud of him! I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek! π
Cooper and his family!
September 22, 2011What a little sweetheart this little man is! Meet Cooper. He is 3 years old. He loves his dog. And, he LOVES IronMan! Anytime he was “done” with the photo session, all his Mom had to do was to remind him that if he was cooperative he would get his IronMan costume when he got home. It worked brilliantly and Cooper was a perfect little boy for his session. This little guy loves any kind of super hero! Each time his Dad, aka “The Hulk” or his mom, aka “Weather Woman” would sneak up behind me in an attempt to make Cooper laugh, and to act silly and pretend they were going to “get me”, Cooper would come to my defense. He loves me! π He wasn’t going to let anyone hurt Mrs.Julie. Now who doesn’t love to be protected by a super hero?? Enjoy this look at Cooper’s sneak peek! π
Mini Sessions have begun!
September 20, 2011Saturday was the first day of my traditional Fall Mini Sessions. This session really would’ve been more accurately titled had it been called “Late Summer” Mini Session. It was a gorgeous late summer day…warm, blue skies, green grass, and an abundance of colorful flowers! I was thrilled with our results and hope that the families that came to my home are pleased with what they see as well! Enjoy this little sneak peak…more to come! π
First up, customers from the last 5 years, my sweet friends Taylor and Indie! Love watching them grow up each year as they are becoming such a gorgeous young woman and gentleman!
Β Absolutely adorable little 2-year-old Louis was up next. He brought along his parents and we caputred some sweet photos of this fun-loving family!
Meredith and Conner brought their smiles and sweet brother/sister love to the afternoon! These two are the children of friends from church, and it was my first opportunity at photographing them. I so enjoyed spending time with these two!
Mr. Personality…Colin!
September 20, 2011Oh. my. word!! I am just LOVIN’ the results from this session with just recently turned 5 -year-old, Colin. We shot in downtown Memphis and had an absolute blast! Colin is full of life and laughter and his little charming personality just pulls you in from the moment you meet him! I hadn’t seen him in a couple of years and couldn’t believe how much he’s grown. He was just thrilled with the fact that he got to “see more of the city” and truly enjoyed our afternoon. We walked up and down the colorful downtown streets, rode the trolley, and finished up our afternoon at the National Civil Rights Museum. I can’t wait to share just a few of my favorites with you. Al and Anita, this boy is one-of-a-kind and he has stolen my heart with his gorgeous eyes, mischievous grin and sweet spirit! Thanks for sharing your sweet boy with me! Enjoy! π
Welcome, Cameron!
September 16, 2011Meet little Cameron and his big brother, Jack! If you’ve been following my work at all, you know that I normally only photograph newborns within the first 7-10 days after they are born. Little Cameron was one day shy of 1-month-old for his session yesterday. I could tell a real difference in how alert he was. However, he behaved so well and never cried once! He just gave us some sweet little eyes wide open photos that are adorable! Big brother Jack came along as well and loved playing in my backyard! He was a trooper and even let us stop him for just a few minutes so that he could participate in the session as well. These boys are so well loved and I can tell they have a family that adores them. Mom, and not one, but 2 grandmothers came along for the day. Now that is love! Welcome to the world, little Cameron! So glad to have you! π
Meagan and Savannah
September 7, 2011One beautiful day + two beautiful sisters= One Perfect Photo Session!! I had such fun reconnecting with Meagan and Savannah this morning! God provided us with just perfect weather and the girls were so great for their session! I had a tough time deciding which ones to post here. Sweet sisters, beautiful colors, perfect light! Enjoy! π
Welcome, Ellie!
September 6, 2011Today was a beyond beautiful day! It was made even more beautiful with the joy of photographing sweet little six-day-old Ellie! Ellie was a DOLL throughout the entire session. She never cried, not even once! She is so very beautiful and I am so happy for this sweet family who have become my friends over the last 4+ years. I first met this sweet family when Emily, the beautiful mom, was pregnant with big brother Luke. I can hardly believe that it’s been 4 years since I was last at their home photographing Luke’s newborn session. Now, he is a VERY proud and loving big brother and was amazing during his part of the session with Ellie today. I am so honored to be asked to photograph this newest member of the family. Congratulations Steve, Emily and Luke…Ellie is perfect and a wonderful gift from God. I am SO happy for all of you! Enjoy your sneak peek! π
LOVE the way he is looking at his new sister!! Sweet Luke! π
Miss Emery is One!
September 2, 2011That was then…one year ago:
And, this is now! Emery Kate is now one year old!
I can hardly believe how quickly time flies! It seems like just yesterday that Emery’s Mom and Dad were telling us that they were pregnant with her! We had such a fun evening last night photographing this big milestone in Emery’s little life. She was all smiles and giggles and barely seemed to notice that her Mom and I were a big sweaty mess from the heat! Didn’t bother her one bit! She just smiled and charmed her way through the whole thing. Absolutely adorable. Happy, happy birthday to you sweet little girl! π
Baby curls and long eyelashes!! Jen, this next one’s for you…
