Brooks is One!

August 16, 2012

What a difference a year can make for two fun brothers! Here’s Brooks and Cohen 14 months ago:

And here they are today!

Love, love, love these two cute little guys! We had fun last night chasing them around and seeing their cute interactions with each other. And, their big eyes and sweet grins just melt my heart! I’m sad that yet another baby plan has come to an end for this fabulous little family. Thanks so much, Clark and Ashlee, for sharing your boys with me all these years! 🙂

I am a visual person! Always have been…guess that’s why photography is such a great fit for me. I’ve never been very good with imagining how something might look.  I like to touch it, see it, in person and then I know I’m good with a decision I have made. I assume that I am not the only person out there in the world that lives this way. 🙂 So, for now, 1:17 Photography is trying out something new and different for our sessions beginning this Fall…Proofbooks! The photo lab that I use has always offered these since I began working with them years ago. I always wondered if this might be something that my customers might enjoy. Basically, for an additional fee paid when you purchase your Sitting Fee, you will receive a spiral bound Proofbook of 4×6 prints. You will receive all proofs from your session that are shown in your online proof gallery. My goal is for your Proofbook to arrive at your home at approximately the same time that your proofs will go online for you to purchase through our online shopping cart.

As you can see from the photos below of a book I had done of my children’s beach photos this summer, this will be a great tool to use when making decisions about your purchases. The proofs are 4×6 in size, but have a 1/4″ border around the edge where it will be spiral bound. The prints also have a linen texture on them. This is to help protect me from any scans being done to the photos illegally…it basically makes the scan not very clear, but will not interfere with you being about to see the prints at all. This is the exact same linen texture I use on my prints that are placed on matboard.

I’m really excited to offer this to my customers. I think the little books will be very fun to show off your photos to your friends as well as having a keepsake of every photo from your session. I hope that you will take advantage of this new offer when you schedule your session with us!

If you look carefully on this next one, you can see the linen texture as well as the clear front cover.

Here’s the back cover:

Welcome, Kinsley Ann!!

July 4, 2012

I’m getting to be pretty good at being an Aunt of little girls…this newest addition to the family makes niece number six for me! Meet the newest little angel in our family, Kinsley! She is beautiful and perfect and oh soooo sweet! Today was a first for me because in all of my years of being a photographer, I’ve never had my family accompany me to to a photo session (unless they were in it!). So today, my husband and two kids and all our photography gear loaded up for a 4th of July holiday lunch to Hernando at Kinsley’s house! It was a great way to spend the day. The cousins all played together, and the adults got some time to visit and eat, too. I am so very proud of Brandon and Krissy and their precious family! Grayson, my 3 and 1/2 year old nephew was absolutely WONDERFUL during his part of the session with his new little sister. It is obvious that he is enamored with her. So sweet! And, Miss Kinsley, with her dark features and all that lovely hair, was an angel. Never made a sound and was a great little model for her first of many photo sessions with her Aunt Julie! I love you guys and am so happy for you! Congratulations! And, welcome to the world, Kinsley! We are so glad you are here! 🙂

See…this boy LOVES his little sister! 🙂

Our little diva!

Ty and Lizzie…

June 29, 2012

What a great way to end my “Spring” season with Ty and Lizzie! I take off the month of July and into the first part of August to be with my children and take some vacation time, so these two were my swan song for a couple of months! Great ending to a great season! I loved my time spent with these absolutely gorgeous little children! They have such sweet features and beautiful, expressive eyes! I loved Mr.Ty’s full out energy level! He kept me laughing and on my toes! 🙂 And, precious little Lizzie has the calmest spirit and adorable smile. Just loved it! Thank you, Jen, for sharing your children with me. Enjoy! 🙂

I just love these grins!! They were excited about some candy they were about to get for doing such a good job. hehe!

I cannot believe how big Miss Lily is getting! Last time I saw her in March, she could barely hold herself up as a little 3 month old. And, now…this sweet girl is going after it! Lily will be 8 months old next week and is already crawling and standing on her own! What a big girl! She brought along big sister, Brianna, again. What a joy to photograph these sweet girls and capture who they are at this moment in their lives. I love watching them grow! Thanks for sharing these sweet girls with me! 🙂

This precious family has grown by one little person since the last time I photographed them! Meet Ellie Grace, Jackson and newest little man Charlie! I just love this family! They are full of joy and laughter and excitement! They had nothing but smiles all night long for me and we had such fun! You never know what you might get with three children this young, but these three did SO good! And, I truly think it was because they truly love one another so very much. Thanks for coming to see me again, guys! I hope you love what you see here…more to come! 🙂

Love this grin!!

Brothers are so much FUN!! I’ve had a sweet run with sisters recently, so it was a great change of pace to get to photograph a fun and charming set of brothers! Boys are such fun to photograph because they want to climb…on everything! They want to punch and wrestle…which I love because it makes for such fun photos! They also don’t care one bit about touching each other or coming anywhere near acting like they like one another! So funny! So, as the photographer, you embrace those moments and capture them as they are…fun, silly, and absolutely adorable! So enjoyed photographing these two boys and their parents. They are such a beautiful family! Enjoy your sneak peek…more to come soon! 🙂

Janet and Caitlin…

June 20, 2012

I love this idea! Janet is about to celebrate an important birthday milestone…a big one…but I’m not about to say which one! I bet you’d never guess it though, because Janet is looking FABULOUS!! As a birthday gift to herself, she decided to have some professional photographs taken of herself. She just completed an intense workout program and made significant accomplishments!! What better way to celebrate yourself! 🙂 And, to add to the fun, she brought along her daughter, Caitlin, and we spent the evening celebrating the special bond between mother and daughter. It doesn’t take long in their presence to see the love and devotion these two have toward one another. Thank you, Janet, for allowing me to spend time with you two! I hope you love your sneak peek!

Lainey is Five!

June 20, 2012

Well, almost five! She will be in July! 🙂 I always get so excited when I see this sweetheart’s name come across my calendar! This is now our 6th session we’ve done together, starting with her newborn session years ago! I adore her spunk, smiles, laughter, curiosity and fun! She’s one of those children that even when she isn’t smiling she is gorgeous. Love, love, love me some Lainey! Thank you for constantly sharing your daughter with me and allowing me the joy of watching her grow into a beautiful young lady!

I know that they grow, and they do it quickly, but I couldn’t get over what a big boy Mr.Lucas is now! I photographed him back in early December as a newborn, and he still has his same “little old man” look that he had then. 🙂 This baby has some of the most beautiful skin, translucent almost…so gorgeous. He was so very interested in this new world around him…the textures, the sounds, everything but myself, Mom, Dad, Aunt, and Grandma who tried our best to make him think we were hilarious and make him smile! But, we did it! We managed to be just a little more interesting than the cars, grass, and textures of the old boards in the Arlington Town Square. Sweet baby boy! 🙂

I don’t know why, but I love this serious face!
