Quinn and Currie…

September 28, 2010

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…LOVE photographing sisters! They are just such fun little friends. I always feel like there is a secret going on between them that I am missing out on that happens just between them. These two beauties were no exception. They were just a joy to work with and we had a blast playing around and searching out fun spots. A lovely ending to a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon. These pictures speak for themselves. Not much needs to be said from me. Quinn and Currie, you girls are amazing! Hope you like your photos! 😉

The secret language. 🙂

Stunning, aren’t they?

Told you we had fun!

James and Emma Kate!

September 28, 2010

Love this little family! I’ve been photographing James since he was about his sister’s age. Now he is 5 and in Kindergarten and his beautiful sister is growing up so quickly, too! We met up on Saturday morning for a lovely session at the Memphis Botanic Gardens. James is so comfortable with me and is such a big ham. He just makes me laugh and laugh. Little Emma Kate is a bit harder to crack but to be honest, there’s nothing more beautiful than those big blue eyes staring up wondering at me. Thanks for a great Saturday! Enjoy! 🙂

Sarahbeth and Houston…

September 21, 2010

Two year old twins! Love it! Sarahbeth and Houston just turned two a few days ago…still such babies! 🙂 Sarahbeth, Houston, their sweet Momma and Grandma, Muh, and I had a hot morning yesterday at the Botanic Gardens. Who knew it would be nearly 100 degrees in late September? Whew! But it was a nice, sunny day so I’m not complaining. These sweet twins had the sweetest smiles and such gorgeous white blond hair and clear blue eyes. The two of them were not really into having their portraits made together, so we spent the majority of the morning focusing on individual pics. Finally, at the very end of the morning, the golden moment arrived and both twins were close enough to each other and looked up with smiles! YAY!!! You should’ve seen the happy dance that Momma, Muh and I did! Mission accomplished! Sarahbeth and Houston, you two are just adorable. Happy 2nd birthday cutie pies! 🙂

This past Saturday was my first round of Mini Sessions and they turned out just fabulous! At the last minute, I decided to switch up three of the sessions to Arlington Town Square (at the request of the customer 🙂 ) while the remainder of the sessions were taken here in my backyard! I couldn’t have been more pleased at our results. It was a great day full of some old friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile, some brand new friends experiencing their first time ever with 1:17 Photography as well as one of our “Find a Cotton Field” contest winners! I love the variety of looks I was able to capture on Saturday from the summer whites and impatiens to the sweaters and blue jeans. September is the perfect mesh for any type of look. I hope all of you enjoy your sneak peek! I had a blast and thank you for choosing 1:17 Photography! 🙂

So, without further babbling from me, here’s what you came here to see, enjoy!

These two cuties! Oh my. They were so funny! I promise they could be their own little comedy group. This session has been a long time in the making; but, this morning everything went off without a hitch. What adorable little sisters they are and so beautiful. Those dark eyes just melt you and then you add in their cute little laughs and grins and its just all over! Loved everything about this session…the smiles, the laughs, the cute little dresses. It all worked and turned into a great Friday session! Enjoy your sneak peak! 🙂

You’ve seen Matthew and Lainey here before if you are regular reader of my blog. These precious children have been long time clients and it was time this week for our yearly session! Their mom wanted to meet up at My Big Backyard at the Botanic Gardens so that we could do some photographs there since Lainey and Matthew have been going to the Gardens and making memories there for “their whole childhood”!

Seriously, these two siblings love each other so very much. I love their interactions together. I had the hardest time picking my favorites for their sneak peek. Enjoy the cuteness!!

Love the tender expressions in these black and whites!

True story. I asked the kids to walk down the bridge holding hands and looking at each other. They did…and then…without prompting, just stopped and hugged each other. Awwww!!

Parker and Grayson…

September 17, 2010

Boys! They are so much fun. So full of energy and such little charmers. Love ’em! I had the chance to hang out with Parker and Grayson this week for some portraits. We had a great time! We had to keep them moving to keep them entertained and interested the photos; but, it was worth it! Aren’t they just adorable? I love, love the sweet curls and cute little grins. Guys, thanks so much for playing with me. I hope your sweet momma loves these pictures as much as I do! Could just eat ’em up! 🙂

A mother’s love…

September 13, 2010

My sweet neighbor, Kim, contacted us and wanted to do a session with just her and her two children! Kim, like most of us mommies out there, are usually the ones behind the camera and documenting the family. It takes a real effort for the mom to be the one in front of the camera! Kim wanted some pictures of just her and Madison, one of my daughter’s great friends, as well as her and her cutie-pie son Andrew! It was such a fun session and so very important for the kids to have these sweet moments captured on film of how much their Mommy loves them. I am inspired and want to do a session like this of my own next spring I think! Enjoy this cute little family and be inspired all you moms out there! Don’t let your kids grow up without them having their picture made with you. Doesn’t have to be professionally made even. Just hand that camera over to Dad every now and then! 🙂

First, the ladies! Aren’t they gorgeous? Love the purple!

Oh, how, little boys LOVE their mommies! I asked Andrew to come have his turn with his mom and he made a run for her arms! Love the sweetness of that image!

And, a few of the kids together! Cute, cute, cute!

And, finally, Kim wanted to add a few in with their 13 year old dog, Dakota! I’m so glad she did this as these images will be priceless someday soon! Kim, thanks for asking me to do this special session with you and your family! 🙂

Chance is One!

September 13, 2010

I’ve been so anxious to post this sneak peek! I met up with little Chance on Friday for his One Year Portraits. I took one look at those big blue eyes and was super excited about capturing them. Things started out just great…for about 5 minutes! 🙂 And, then, for some reason Chance got nervous…really, really nervous. Poor baby boy did NOT want to let go of his Mommy or Daddy. Even as we all tried song after song, Daddy did many silly dances, and we tried everything we could think of to help him out, it just wasn’t going to happen. So we worked and worked and I think we all left there wondering what we ended up with. I told Chance’s parents when we finished that “There’s always more than you expect”. And, boy, was I right!

Because Chance was either being held or clinging for the majority of the session, we ended up with alot of closeups. But, wow! What fun! His gorgeous eyes just make me swoon! So, take heart, all you parents out there! Your session doesn’t have to go perfectly . In fact, it likely won’t! At the end of the day; however, we ended up with some real winners. Curtis and Holly, I hope you are as pleased as I am with your sneak peek and you can relax in knowing we captured your precious boy just as he is at age 1!! 🙂

Carrigan Grace is here!

August 30, 2010

Every time I have the opportunity to photograph a newborn, I am always amazed at God’s newest little creation. Little Miss Carrigan is the daughter of my friends, Mike and Jena. Mike is a pastor at our church and his lovely wife, Jena, has become a dear friend. I have photographed this precious family before, and so enjoyed capturing their newest addition. Carrigan is such a beautiful little baby girl and was so great for us last Friday. She was exactly two weeks old and adorable. Her big brothers just loved on her, too, and were so sweet. Thanks for allowing me into your home to photograph your sweet Carrigan. She is truly a picture of God’s grace! 🙂

A couple quick ones of Carrigan’s big brothers, too…

And, now, for Carrigan’s moment! Love these!!

Carrigan woke up in the middle of her session and kept looking straight at me. I love these precious eyes open portraits!

And, finally, asleep again!
