Remember this beautiful maternity session? Well, the expectation has ended and Miss Colleen has finally arrived home! She wins the prize, I do believe, as the newborn that has smiled at me the most during her session. It was really quite humorous how each time I spoke to her she just smiled away as if she knew exactly the purpose for which I was there! It was a beautiful and quite warm fall day, so we took advantage of it and took some portraits inside as well as out! Colleen was a little star and was such a good girl for her session and let us play with all sorts of hats, outfits, and poses….such a girl…already enjoying dress-up! π Michelle and Darren, I am so happy for you both. Colleen is a blessed little girl to have you in her life! Congratulations!

Welcome, Colleen!
November 2, 2010Happy 1st Birthday, Emily!
November 2, 2010If you love babies and those beyond-cute baby smiles, then look no further! Emily and I met up last week the day after her very first birthday for some portraits to mark the occasion! Mom and I both were a bit worried that nap-time might interfere with the session; but, we shouldn’t have worried. Emily was a little angel and smiled, laughed, and giggled her way through it! I adore her wide-mouthed grin…isn’t it the best?! Love it! Emily, you are a beautiful and precious little girl. Happy first birthday, little one! π
Welcome, Jeremiah!
October 26, 2010I am IN LOVE with little newborns! Jeremiah’s session was no exception. Jeremiah Daniel is so adorable and his was just angelic throughout his entire session. He is the first grand-baby on both sides and I had a gallery of sweet family members watching the session. This is one LOVED little guy! This was a special session for me to photograph for so many reasons. First, for those of you who don’t know I used to be a 5th grade teacher and years ago I had Jeremiah’s Daddy, Jon, in my class. Now, if that doesn’t make me feel old! Wow. It is such a joy to see him and his sweet wife, Miranda, so happy and complete with their special gift from God. Additionally, Jeremiah is the grandson of my beloved Pastor and his sweet wife. Not everyone has the opportunity to know their Pastor and family on such an intimate level and having known this family for many, many years I can truly say that this little boy, adorable Jeremiah, will just add to the joy and love that this family shares. I am so happy for all of you. Now, for those pictures. Beyond adorable! Congratulations, Sinquefield family! π
This was a neat part of the session. The blanket that Jeremiah is laying on belonged to his gorgeous mother when she was a baby! So special!
Don’t you love how they look in this photo? As if they are holding the most precious gift ever? Well, they pretty much are! π
Finally, since Jeremiah was born in the fall, we decided to make use of the beautiful fall decor. Love these!
Jackson is a big boy now!
October 26, 2010Yesterday was a big day. I met up with sweet Jackson to complete his First Year Baby Plan. Jackson did his session a little differently than most of my baby planners and had sessions at 4 months and 8 months. Yesterday’s session was his last one and he is now a precious 16 month old little boy full of charm and smiles. He is so adorable with some really cute faces. I loved photographing him and playing around with him. Just enjoy his cuteness and tell me I’m not right! π
Mini Sessions in Arlington!
October 6, 2010Saturday was a gorgeous Fall day all day long! Just simply perfect for our last Mini Session this year. Jodie and I had a blast hanging out with all the families that came to be photographed in the town square. It was so much fun! Only small hangup we encountered was the wind! We were about 2 sessions in when the wind just starting blowing in HUGE gusts! I’ll admit it was a big challenge to work around, especially for all the pretty ladies with their long, beautiful hair! But, we made it through and managed to get some really, really gorgeous portraits for these families! I am thrilled to show you all what we ended up with and hope that you love them! Thanks for another successful Mini Session!
Wyatt!
September 29, 2010Oh, what a sweetheart this little guy is! He had the cutest little grin and laugh. And, how he loves his momma! These smiles you see below…all for his momma. Love that. This session was all about capturing the cuteness of a sweet baby boy. I think we accomplished our goal. Wyatt, thanks for being such a great little subject. Your grins, giggles and baby rolls make me happy! π
Surprise! The Cotton is ready!
September 28, 2010I had the strangest thing happen to me last week. Part of being a photographer Β that shoots mainly outdoors is learning to deal with the weather. I’ve gotten pretty good at rescheduling sessions due to rain, dark clouds, mud, wetness, etc. However, I must say that I’ve never had to reschedule anything due to the LACK of rain! Last week I received a phone call from the very kind farmer who had offered up his cotton fields to me to use for the Mini Sessions I had scheduled for Oct.23rd. He proceeded to tell me that due to lack of rain and extreme heat that the cotton was ready to be harvested and I needed to move on those sessions. Yikes! Well, my clients are amazing because with only two days notice, I had half of them rescheduled for their cotton field sessions on Sunday night! The other half has their turn this coming up Friday!
Everyone showed up in such AWESOME clothes and looked so great! I really love the autumn look to these photos and really am pleased with how they turned out! Can’t wait for Friday to see what those sessions have in store. So, enough of my story. Take a look at these precious families! Happy Fall y’all! π
Abby is growing up!
September 28, 2010Look at Miss Abby! You might remember her from her Newborn session way back in February. And, now she is seven months and even more beautiful! I loved her session on Saturday evening at Botanic Gardens. Her looks went from happy, laughing baby to soulful porcelain baby doll in a matter of seconds. Amazing the variety of faces this little one has! Fun. Serious. Fun. Serious. And so it went. I love doing the Little Gifts Newborn Club babies and having the wonderful opportunity to see them grow up! Happy 7 months, sweet girl! Can’t believe how fast time flies!
Mini Sessions, Round Oneβ¦Success!!
September 21, 2010This past Saturday was my first round of Mini Sessions and they turned out just fabulous! At the last minute, I decided to switch up three of the sessions to Arlington Town Square (at the request of the customer π ) while the remainder of the sessions were taken here in my backyard! I couldn’t have been more pleased at our results. It was a great day full of some old friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile, some brand new friends experiencing their first time ever with 1:17 Photography as well as one of our “Find a Cotton Field” contest winners! I love the variety of looks I was able to capture on Saturday from the summer whites and impatiens to the sweaters and blue jeans. September is the perfect mesh for any type of look. I hope all of you enjoy your sneak peek! I had a blast and thank you for choosing 1:17 Photography! π
So, without further babbling from me, here’s what you came here to see, enjoy!
Chance is One!
September 13, 2010I’ve been so anxious to post this sneak peek! I met up with little Chance on Friday for his One Year Portraits. I took one look at those big blue eyes and was super excited about capturing them. Things started out just great…for about 5 minutes! π And, then, for some reason Chance got nervous…really, really nervous. Poor baby boy did NOT want to let go of his Mommy or Daddy. Even as we all tried song after song, Daddy did many silly dances, and we tried everything we could think of to help him out, it just wasn’t going to happen. So we worked and worked and I think we all left there wondering what we ended up with. I told Chance’s parents when we finished that “There’s always more than you expect”. And, boy, was I right!
Because Chance was either being held or clinging for the majority of the session, we ended up with alot of closeups. But, wow! What fun! His gorgeous eyes just make me swoon! So, take heart, all you parents out there! Your session doesn’t have to go perfectly . In fact, it likely won’t! At the end of the day; however, we ended up with some real winners. Curtis and Holly, I hope you are as pleased as I am with your sneak peek and you can relax in knowing we captured your precious boy just as he is at age 1!! π
