Remember this beautiful maternity session? Well, the expectation has ended and Miss Colleen has finally arrived home! She wins the prize, I do believe, as the newborn that has smiled at me the most during her session. It was really quite humorous how each time I spoke to her she just smiled away as if she knew exactly the purpose for which I was there! It was a beautiful and quite warm fall day, so we took advantage of it and took some portraits inside as well as out! Colleen was a little star and was such a good girl for her session and let us play with all sorts of hats, outfits, and poses….such a girl…already enjoying dress-up! π Michelle and Darren, I am so happy for you both. Colleen is a blessed little girl to have you in her life! Congratulations!

Welcome, Colleen!
November 2, 2010Welcome, Jeremiah!
October 26, 2010I am IN LOVE with little newborns! Jeremiah’s session was no exception. Jeremiah Daniel is so adorable and his was just angelic throughout his entire session. He is the first grand-baby on both sides and I had a gallery of sweet family members watching the session. This is one LOVED little guy! This was a special session for me to photograph for so many reasons. First, for those of you who don’t know I used to be a 5th grade teacher and years ago I had Jeremiah’s Daddy, Jon, in my class. Now, if that doesn’t make me feel old! Wow. It is such a joy to see him and his sweet wife, Miranda, so happy and complete with their special gift from God. Additionally, Jeremiah is the grandson of my beloved Pastor and his sweet wife. Not everyone has the opportunity to know their Pastor and family on such an intimate level and having known this family for many, many years I can truly say that this little boy, adorable Jeremiah, will just add to the joy and love that this family shares. I am so happy for all of you. Now, for those pictures. Beyond adorable! Congratulations, Sinquefield family! π
This was a neat part of the session. The blanket that Jeremiah is laying on belonged to his gorgeous mother when she was a baby! So special!
Don’t you love how they look in this photo? As if they are holding the most precious gift ever? Well, they pretty much are! π
Finally, since Jeremiah was born in the fall, we decided to make use of the beautiful fall decor. Love these!
Welcome, Savannah!
October 13, 2010Allow me to introduce two new friends of mine: Little Savannah, just 12 days old at her session this past Monday and her big sister, 3-year-old Avery. We had a gorgeous day to work with, a pleasant surprise in mid-October. So, we decided to take the girls outside and take advantage of it! Savannah was so sweet and had so much hair! She was very aware of what was going on around her and was determined not to miss out on anything! π And, sweet Avery, is already such a wonderful big sister! She was so patient with Savannah as we worked to try to get “that shot”! Girls, loved working with you. And , Julie, your daughters are so beautiful and well-behaved! Good job, momma! π
While Miss Savannah was being cuddled and fed, I did a few shots with her big sister!
Then, we tried for one with the girls together…
Emery…a true example of God’s goodness!
September 13, 2010Meet precious Emery and her sweet family! Emery is such a wonderful example of God’s goodness as well as the love and devotion of family. Our friends, Emery’s parents, Jenny and Craig were due with their 2nd child in September and all was going all great…until about the middle of May when Jenny was admitted to the hospital with preterm labor. Ended up that Jenny was put on very strict bed-rest for the remainder of her pregnancy. The love and devotion of this momma to her baby to stay still and calm considering that she has a 2 year old at home , a household to run, and a husband to love on was a joy to watch! And, that sweet Daddy Craig! It must’ve been really tough to spend the last several months being mommy, daddy, caretaker, and housemaid all while working a full-time job and going to school….whew!! But, God is good! Precious Emery arrived at Β just about full-term thanks to the devotion of her family. I thank God for His hand of mercy on this sweet family!
Now, meet Jenny, Craig, Max and sweet Emery! Welcome, baby girl! π And, be sure to check out her GORGEOUS little lips…awww!
Carrigan Grace is here!
August 30, 2010Every time I have the opportunity to photograph a newborn, I am always amazed at God’s newest little creation. Little Miss Carrigan is the daughter of my friends, Mike and Jena. Mike is a pastor at our church and his lovely wife, Jena, has become a dear friend. I have photographed this precious family before, and so enjoyed capturing their newest addition. Carrigan is such a beautiful little baby girl and was so great for us last Friday. She was exactly two weeks old and adorable. Her big brothers just loved on her, too, and were so sweet. Thanks for allowing me into your home to photograph your sweet Carrigan. She is truly a picture of God’s grace! π
A couple quick ones of Carrigan’s big brothers, too…
And, now, for Carrigan’s moment! Love these!!
Carrigan woke up in the middle of her session and kept looking straight at me. I love these precious eyes open portraits!
And, finally, asleep again!
The Happy Heart! Fall 2010
August 21, 2010I absolutely ADORE The Happy Heart Clothing shop in Arlington, TN! These ladies have simply amazing taste in children’s clothing. The clothes are absolutely P.E.R.F.E.C.T for a portrait session. Perfect! I had the fun opportunity to spend some time yesterday morning with these beautiful children who had the fun job of modeling these clothes for me so that I could shoot just a little of the examples of the Fall clothing line they now have in their store. This is my third time to get to do this for The Happy Heart and it is just the most fun time! The kids did such a fabulous job in the clothes that had to be hot for them because, let’s face it, it was 100 degrees yesterday and not quite the time yet for coats, hats and sweaters. π
This is just a sampling of the fun we had yesterday. This is quite a long post but I had so many things I just LOVED that I couldn’t stop proofing them to share with all of you. Please, go and visit Happy Heart soon! You’ll be happy you did. And, my customers for this fall…note to you: Β Wondering what to wear for your upcoming session?? See below! Visit Happy Heart and problem solved! See, now we are all happy! π
Yes, these are my nieces, and, yes they are stinkin’ adorable! π
My oldest niece! And, yes, she is simply beautiful, too! π
Joey is here!
August 2, 2010I had the fun task on Saturday to head out to meet little Joey! Those of you who follow my business know that I take a short hiatus from my shooting schedule during the month of July; however, I do make exceptions for newborns of previous clients and special friends. Joey’s mom and I used to work together and we also attend church together. His Mom and Dad have been beyond excited to meet him and it is such a joy to see their love for him. Abby and Michael, I am overjoyed for you with the gift of this beautiful little boy. God has blessed you greatly and it was an honor to spend some time photographing him for you! I hope you enjoy your sneak peak!
You know how much I love this little blue hat! Babies just look so adorable in hats! Love it!
And, finally, a piece of history on this photograph. This bassinet is a family heirloom in which all babies on Mom’s side of the family have slept in, including Joey’s Mom as well as his Grandfather. Isn’t that neat?
Welcome Sweet Reese!
July 9, 2010Little Miss Reese is obviously going to be a fun little girl to have around! She was born last week…FOUR weeks early and took all of us by surprise! God is good, though, and she came out a little fighter and didn’t have any problems after the birth at all. When I photographed her at 11 days she was only around 5 lbs 5 oz…teeny, teeny, tiny and ohhh so adorable. We had such a great time with her and Reese’s sweet mom so enjoyed bringing out the little gifts that she had purchased for her photo session. The little tutu, hat, and bloomers all were huge on her tiny frame but a little nip and tuck and we made it work like a charm! I have photographed Reese’s big sister for several years and it is so fun to now include Reese as a part of this precious family. Congratulations to all of you on your new baby sister and daughter…she is simply a precious little doll!
You all know by now that I really love both color and black & white images and usually find some of each that I love from every session. However, Reese’s session was just sooo pink! Everything was rosy and sweet and I just had to use the color on all them. Enjoy!
Welcome sweet Zoe!
June 29, 2010Another beautiful baby girl has joined the world! And what a sweet family she is so blessed to have. There are some families that just kinda “oooze” love! This is one of those. You spend just a few minutes with this group and you can feel the love that these parents have for each other and their children. We spent some time in their home the other day and captured some sweet memories for them of Zoe’s first days. I really enjoyed my time with Zoe’s family and loved photographing her. Here’s today’s look at joy….
This is a chair that belongs to Zoe’s Daddy that he was rocked in as a baby! Love that they incorporated this into the shoot!
Welcome to the world, Bryant!
May 17, 2010Sweet newborns…ahh, soo adorable. I could just shoot newborn sessions every.single.day and never tire of them! I love it! Little Bryant was no exception. His mommy told me that she had been talking to him for several days about how he needed to be good and behave for me when I came to take his photos. He obviously is going to be a very well behaved little boy! Russell and Heather, you’ve done good and God has granted you with an amazing gift! Bryant is gorgeous! Congratulations!
Bryant’s nursery was decorated in Sock Monkey decor. It was beyond cute! π
And, the icing on the cake is below. All you moms and dads and photographers out there know that it is very rare to catch a little newborn smile. This day, I just happened to be there at just the right second to capture this little gem! Loooove it!
