Mandy + Ron = Love

August 20, 2010

We all have them. The friend that you’ve known for so long that you honestly cannot remember even when you met or how old you were. That is Mandy to me! While growing up, she’s always been like another little sister to me. She has just always been around. Her family and my family grew up together, vacationed together every summer, lots of fun memories! And, now that we are all grown up, Mandy is a true friend whom I dearly love. And, for the record, my friend Mandy has one of the single most AMAZING voices on earth…girl can sing like an angel, y’all, no kidding! She’s is just so beautiful inside and out. And, now, she’s madly in love, too and is getting married next weekend! I had the pleasure of photographing Mandy and her handsome hubby-to-be this week for some casual before the wedding shots, an engagement session if you will! It was a joy getting to spend time with Mandy and Ron and just photographing for the pure joy of it. Mandy, I love you, honey and couldn’t be happier for you and Ron! Happy Wedding!

I had so much fun working with grownups that didn’t require me to sing a silly song or give them a bribe. Therefore, lots and lots of fun photos for you to enjoy tonight! 🙂 But, it’ll be easy on the eyes because Ron and Mandy are just beautiful….seriously!

Raaawr!! 🙂

A quick change to some black and white…love it!

And, a few with Ron’s beautiful daughter, Amber! What a sweet family!

And, finally, please note the shoes! Stylish from head to toe! 🙂 Love you!

Oh, soo happy!!

As a photographer, there are days when everything just “clicks”…no pun intended. 😉 Monday night I was doing a little happy dance the entire evening. I had the joy of photographing the two beautiful daughters of our good friends.  The girls and I had such a good time just laughing and posing and enjoying the evening. The weather actually started to cool down a bit, the skies were slightly overcast which made for beautiful light, bright and colorful wardrobe and my little subjects…Seriously, how gorgeous are they? We started our evening in a field of wildflowers and then moved onto the Arlington Town Square. Lauren and McKenna, I loved our night together and hope that you had as much fun as I did. Love you girlies!!

A little vintage coloring for these…

I absolutely LOVE how they are laughing together in this one!

On these next two, I spent about 10 minutes deciding if I should post color or bw…finally, the bw won; but, only by a tiny margin!

And, this last one I just HAD to include. It makes me smile. Love the joy and pure childhood fun it displays! See…told you we had a great night! 🙂

Miss Grace…

June 4, 2010

Okay, it is “officially official”. I have a new favorite age to photograph…FOUR!! I don’t know why, but I am just having such fun with four-year-olds these days. There is just a magic about them. Take little Grace, for example. We had a ball dressing up in fun outfit changes, posing “like a model”, and pulling out those genuine smiles that are starting to get lost in the forced “cheese” smiles. Grace is such a sweet girl and I had so much fun working with her. Isn’t she just gorgeous? Had such a hard time just picking a few to showcase here! 🙂

3,2,1…GO!!

June 4, 2010

What do you get when you try to photograph three amazingly cute little brothers? Did I mention that for just one week (due to birthdays) these brothers are ages 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years? Well what you usually get, to be honest, is whole lot of this:

However, {and might I glad that I am so happy for the “howevers” in life!!} if you add in a Momma and a Daddy with lots of patience, cool dance moves, and a bag full of tricks for smile-makers as well as a photographer is works real quick…you end up with some real “keepers”! Happy Birthday to all of you precious boys: Gage, Cooper, and Chance! Ya’ll are awesome!!

And my personal favorite of the night….

Briar and Bronson

Happiness. That’s what I see when I look at this family. Long time clients, I’ve enjoyed seeing them once a year and seeing how much they have grown-up. Its happening so quickly, too! These guys love to laugh and have fun together. And they are absolutely adorable to look at and the camera loves them. I love this first image. I know, it may not be “picture perfect” but in my mind, it is perfect. See the smiles? See the laughter? See the snuggling? See the fun? See the dirt on the bottom of his little foot? That is life and this is a little glance into their everyday life. That’s what I want to capture for you. A look into your life. A moment in time that passes by all too quickly. Thanks for a fun morning, Briar and Bronson!

The Many Faces of Ella

May 22, 2010

Beautiful Ella! Love this girl. I’ve photographed Miss Ella before but she was just a baby…and now look at this gorgeous thing! I was amazed at her personality and happiness with life. I am beginning to think that four years old is a little magical in the life of a child through my camera lens. When I look at these photographs I can clearly see a little girl, almost a baby; and, yet, at the same time I can glimpse a moment of who she has yet to become. The lovely lady that is just starting to emerge. It’s just a glimpse…but it is there. Thanks for coming to see me again, Ella. You are such fun! 🙂

Cutie Kade!

May 8, 2010

I cannot believe this little man is already four years old. I have been photographing his gorgeous self since he was just a few months old. Look at these gorgeous eyes from his Six Month Session. Even then he was stealing my heart!

Now Kade is four years old and such a charmer. He is such a little people pleaser! I love that we have known one another for as long as he can remember. I love that his momma is now someone I am proud to call a friend. Without 1:17 Photography we might not have ever met, and she is such a great lady! We always have such a fun time working together and creating some wonderful pictures. Kade, you have grown up so quickly! I adore you, little guy! Keep on being adorable you! 🙂

“I’ve known him since he was born.” That’s a common phrase around the South that we use when we have known someone a long time. However, in this little guy’s case, I have literally known him since he was born! I was in the delivery room the moment he made his first cry and I have loved him ever since. Mr. Grayson is my adorable little nephew and he just steals my heart. I have four nieces that I adore; but Grayson is the only little man around to play with tractors and cars (besides my own little man, of course!).  It kills me how much he looks like my 9 year old son at this age. I could hardly concentrate on photographing him because he kept cracking me up with all of his funny faces, cute smiles, and just plain adorableness!! Gray-Gray, Aunt Julie loves you! Krissy and Brandon, sooo sorry it’s taken me for-ev-ah to get these on the blog. And, because you have been so patient, you get a few more than normal! Hope it was worth the wait!!

I have been photographing this adorable little girl since she was a few days old. Now, Norah Grace is growing up so quick into such a fun and outgoing little thing. We had such a great time last week running around the Arlington Town Square and it was a joy to capture her personality in these 2 year old portraits. She even stayed happy through a few outfit changes which made it even more fun. Mom always dresses Norah Grace so cute. Thinking I need to hire her Mom and Grandma to shop for me. 🙂

Check out Miss Personality! Loving these! So fun…

Near the end, the poor baby was getting tired. But, I am adoring these shots of her and mom just loving on each other!

Saturday was so awesome! After not really doing much photography over the last few months due to the cold and dreary winter, it was so amazing to be out in the beautiful spring weather all day long photographing some incredible families! We had our first-ever Mini Sessions at the Arlington Town Square in conjunction with the Happy Heart Clothing Store. Jodie came out and assisted me and it was so wonderful having her around! I can’t wait for all of you to see your session proofs. They all turned out so great. All but one are new customers and we are happy to welcome you all to the 1:17 family! I love shooting at the Square as I think the rustic look against the softness of the kids clothes and skin is such a feast for the eyes! Long post ahead…but, I think you’ll love ’em!

What a way to start the day! These sweet sisters were ready to get us started on the right foot! Soo sweet…

Doesn’t this sweet baby just melt your heart? Love the vintage look here…

Immediately…I fell in love with this precious little girl’s eyes! Awww….love!!!

You’ve seen these beautiful ladies before! I love photographing them! Mom was going after a vintage look here and incorporated their violins. Additionally, the baby’s dress was mom’s dress when she was little.  It’s the little personal touches that make such a big difference!

This family loved each other so very much! You can see it just looking at this little glimspe into their world…

Saturday was a day of sisters. Mom came in worried that the little one wouldn’t be in the mood for pics because she had missed her nap! Well, might I suggest always skipping naptime before the session for this little one? These two were full of personality and smiles!

I had a soft spot for these two. Almost the same ages as my two. I love seeing brother/sister interactions! Check out that face when I asked them to kiss. HA!

The last session of the day ended an already perfect day with an almost perfect session! These adorable sisters have a newborn baby brother, just born last night!! Lucky me, I get to take his pictures next week! So excited. But for now, take a look at these beauties!

Happy Heart…you ladies are WONDERFUL!! Thanks for a great day. Can’t wait to do it again!
