Look at Miss Abby! You might remember her from her Newborn session way back in February. And, now she is seven months and even more beautiful! I loved her session on Saturday evening at Botanic Gardens. Her looks went from happy, laughing baby to soulful porcelain baby doll in a matter of seconds. Amazing the variety of faces this little one has! Fun. Serious. Fun. Serious. And so it went. I love doing the Little Gifts Newborn Club babies and having the wonderful opportunity to see them grow up! Happy 7 months, sweet girl! Can’t believe how fast time flies!

Abby is growing up!
September 28, 2010James and Emma Kate!
September 28, 2010Love this little family! I’ve been photographing James since he was about his sister’s age. Now he is 5 and in Kindergarten and his beautiful sister is growing up so quickly, too! We met up on Saturday morning for a lovely session at the Memphis Botanic Gardens. James is so comfortable with me and is such a big ham. He just makes me laugh and laugh. Little Emma Kate is a bit harder to crack but to be honest, there’s nothing more beautiful than those big blue eyes staring up wondering at me. Thanks for a great Saturday! Enjoy! 🙂
Sarahbeth and Houston…
September 21, 2010Two year old twins! Love it! Sarahbeth and Houston just turned two a few days ago…still such babies! 🙂 Sarahbeth, Houston, their sweet Momma and Grandma, Muh, and I had a hot morning yesterday at the Botanic Gardens. Who knew it would be nearly 100 degrees in late September? Whew! But it was a nice, sunny day so I’m not complaining. These sweet twins had the sweetest smiles and such gorgeous white blond hair and clear blue eyes. The two of them were not really into having their portraits made together, so we spent the majority of the morning focusing on individual pics. Finally, at the very end of the morning, the golden moment arrived and both twins were close enough to each other and looked up with smiles! YAY!!! You should’ve seen the happy dance that Momma, Muh and I did! Mission accomplished! Sarahbeth and Houston, you two are just adorable. Happy 2nd birthday cutie pies! 🙂
Old friends are sometimes the best!
September 17, 2010You’ve seen Matthew and Lainey here before if you are regular reader of my blog. These precious children have been long time clients and it was time this week for our yearly session! Their mom wanted to meet up at My Big Backyard at the Botanic Gardens so that we could do some photographs there since Lainey and Matthew have been going to the Gardens and making memories there for “their whole childhood”!
Seriously, these two siblings love each other so very much. I love their interactions together. I had the hardest time picking my favorites for their sneak peek. Enjoy the cuteness!!
Love the tender expressions in these black and whites!
True story. I asked the kids to walk down the bridge holding hands and looking at each other. They did…and then…without prompting, just stopped and hugged each other. Awwww!!
Chance is One!
September 13, 2010I’ve been so anxious to post this sneak peek! I met up with little Chance on Friday for his One Year Portraits. I took one look at those big blue eyes and was super excited about capturing them. Things started out just great…for about 5 minutes! 🙂 And, then, for some reason Chance got nervous…really, really nervous. Poor baby boy did NOT want to let go of his Mommy or Daddy. Even as we all tried song after song, Daddy did many silly dances, and we tried everything we could think of to help him out, it just wasn’t going to happen. So we worked and worked and I think we all left there wondering what we ended up with. I told Chance’s parents when we finished that “There’s always more than you expect”. And, boy, was I right!
Because Chance was either being held or clinging for the majority of the session, we ended up with alot of closeups. But, wow! What fun! His gorgeous eyes just make me swoon! So, take heart, all you parents out there! Your session doesn’t have to go perfectly . In fact, it likely won’t! At the end of the day; however, we ended up with some real winners. Curtis and Holly, I hope you are as pleased as I am with your sneak peek and you can relax in knowing we captured your precious boy just as he is at age 1!! 🙂
Beautiful Kristina…
September 8, 2010This amazing young woman just blew me away with her poise and charming personality! We had a wonderful day together last week photographing Miss Kristina for her Senior Portraits. I had to laugh when she told me that most photographs she takes are awkward or that her eyes look too tiny. WHAT?! This young lady was just incredibly beautiful both inside and out. She is finishing her last year of high school as well as taking some classes at Christian Brothers University in hopes of someday becoming a nurse. Love it! She talked so lovingly of her family and of her passion in participating in mission-minded events such as World Changers each year. I can only hope that my daughter will someday grow to be as confident and full of life as you are, Kristina! I had a blast working with you and hope you enjoy your sneak peak. Sooo many more to come! 🙂
First of all, a few with some “wow” color!
Then, a quick outfit change into what Kristina says, “This outfit is most definitely ME!” So adorable!
Beautiful! Love the eyes on this one!
Little Lexi!
August 30, 2010Lexi is that perfect age…four! I had the best time last week with Lexi and her sweet parents. We were all so grateful for a break in the heat and enjoyed our session together so much. Lexi had a ball performing and posing for the camera. It was all a fun game to her and I think she really enjoyed herself, too. We did a few of her alone and some with Mom and Dad, too. I loved that Lexi’s mom choose to bring along a “fun” outfit for the end of the session. It was just the thing to get a tired little girl back into the spirit of the session and to grab some fun and relaxed portraits in an outfit especially perfect for a four year old princess! 🙂
Beautiful Camille!
August 19, 2010This was such a fun session to photograph! I have not photographed Camille since she was four years old. Now, she is a seven year old young lady and starting 1st grade this week! The purpose of this session was to capture this beautiful dress that Camille is wearing in the portraits. The dress was entirely handmade my Camille’s grandmother. The details on this dress were absolutely stunning. We had a great time posing and modeling and laughing together. It was so fun to reconnect and capture this important part of Camille’s world! Enjoy your sneak peek!
A Hot Summer Day with Beautiful Results!
June 29, 2010Saturday was without a doubt a HOT summer day in Memphis! We’ve been in the midst of a heat wave that usually doesn’t happen until sometime in July or August and I have to admit it has been pretty miserable. I had two sessions scheduled Saturday morning at the Botanic Gardens and we even moved the times to as early as possible so that it wouldn’t be so awful. However, this heat almost had us all drained! But…we persevered and ended up with some beautiful images for these two sweet families.
First to have the fun was Riley and John Winn. I hadn’t seen these two since last summer and could hardly believe how big they’ve gotten. Miss Riley is almost 4 and such a beauty. I adore her big brown eyes! They just make me smile. And, Mr.John Winn…he had us all running in that heat! He is every bit of the typical 18 month old little boy. Interested in everything, curious about it all, busy as can be….and not a BIT interested in me or my camera. We managed to capture some though, in spite of his best efforts to get away from me. Love this sweet family!
After my time with Riley and John Winn, I had the fun opportunity to photograph a childhood friend and her gorgeous family! Ashley and I grew up next door to each other for many, many years and her older sister was my very best friend. I have so many wonderful memories with Ashley and her sister, Amye, and it is such a joy to capture some memories of her three gorgeous children: Madison, Lindsey, and Ingram. Ingram is about the same age as John Winn and he had just about as much interest in taking photographs. 😉 He was a busy little guy who was SO excited about exploring the Botanic Gardens. I was definitely NOT a part of his agenda that day. HA! What I loved, though, was watching his adorable sisters and the patience and love that they had with this little guy. They just loved on him and laughed at him and patiently waited on him to be ready. Girls, you were amazing. Ashley, so happy for you that you have such a precious family! Thanks for asking me to photograph them for you again. Hope you love what you see here…
Cohen is One!
June 9, 2010If you’ve ever wondered why it is so important to have photographs taken of your children, here’s the perfect example. It’s because they can go from this teeny, tiny bundle of cuteness:
To a funny, active and so much bigger bundle of cuteness like this:
Cohen is one of our Little Gifts Newborn Club babies and has the hippest, coolest parents ever! My poor kids, I’ll never be as fab and stylish as Cohen’s mom and dad…love them! Now, to be fair, Cohen is a little older than a year and is about 18 months old. But what a difference a year can make! We had such fun playing at My Big Backyard at the Botanic Gardens on Saturday. It was pure joy to watch Cohen discover his surroundings and try to capture a little bit of who he is at this point in life. Ashley and Clark, it’s been an awesome year! I have so very much enjoyed watching your little man grow. Congrats for doing so well with such a wonderful little dude! 🙂
