Grayson & Krissy!

March 3, 2011

I love my family so much! Seriously, all of them so very much. God has been beyond gracious to me in the gifts He has granted me in the area of my family. And, believe it or not, I include my “in-laws” within this statement! πŸ™‚ Not everyone is as blessed as I am to have such an amazing family in their in-laws! Yesterday,in Memphis, was just beautiful! My little nephew, Grayson, almost 2 1/2 years was in need of some new photos;and, I was in need of wanting to be outdoors and do some shooting! I haven’t done an outdoor session since November, and I was itching to get out and play with God’s light! We included my awesome sister -in-law, Krissy, in the photos yesterday, too. She’s so beautiful, isn’t she? Love them and love these photos! Enjoy spring!!!

This group of pics with the two of them steal my heart!! Oh, I need to get some pics done with my own babies! πŸ™‚

Warm Thoughts for a Cold Day!

February 11, 2011

I know. It is cold. It has been snowy! My goodness, it was 13 degrees here at my home in Lakeland this morning! But, just remember that this is just a season and it won’t last forever! The older I get, the more I have come to appreciate the true seasons of weather we get to enjoy in Memphis. Not everyone gets to have that. I am learning to embrace it. And, that way, when the spring arrives, I appreciate it all the more. And, just to remind you that it’s not that far away, I wanted to leave you with a few of my favorite spring pictures from last year. All of these were taken at the end of March or very first week or so of April. That’s only about six weeks away and it’ll be here before we know it! And, as a plug (I’ve gotta add the plug!), don’t forget that we will begin scheduling for outdoor sessions taking place in March, April, May or June on February 22nd! If you are already on our mailing list, then you will automatically receive information about this next week. If you aren’t and would like to be added, send me your email to julie@117photography.com and I’ll make sure you get added! Happy Friday ya’ll! Here’s the taste of things to come!

John & Lali…and family!

November 13, 2010

Loved this family! Mom told me within the first few minutes that she wanted to warn me that her kids can be quite difficult to get good pictures of! Good thing for all of us, her sweet and lovely little ones proved her wrong! We had a fabulous session together and just enjoyed the morning! I love how very much this family loved each other. It was just a joy to be in their presence! Little Lali is so sweet and kept asking if she could come to my house to play! HA! Love it! And little John, such a charmer and the cutest little grin! My favorites from this session were the ones when I just told everyone to give a big hug to each other. It’s almost like they just melted into one big happy hug! I hope you all enjoy your sneak peak!! πŸ™‚

My buddies, Ella and Holden!

November 9, 2010

I love, love this family! I’ve been photographing Ella for many years and she always brings a big smile to my face. For the last couple of sessions, little brother Holden is always a part of our fun and he is just hilarious! Ella and Holden are just FUN kids and I know this comes from having such a fabulous momma and daddy! I loved watching their mom, Angela, work her magic with them the other day. She knew just how to make them do what she wanted, but not once did she get frustrated or overwhelmed…at least it seemed that way to me! These kids are beautiful! I love the relationship we have year after year and the sweet hugs of remembrance I get from them! Thanks for making me laugh guys and for making me realize yet again how very much I love what I do. Enjoy your sneak peek! πŸ™‚

Ethan, Caleb and family!

November 9, 2010

Tis the season for family photographs! If asked, I’d say that I specialize in the portraits of children. That is my “thing” and what I do best! I’ve had several sessions recently, however, that there was a specific request for no individual portraits of the child and just to focus on the family! A fun change! This past Saturday was just beautiful in Memphis and I was so glad that I had photo sessions scheduled! Gave me a great excuse to get outdoors and play! I met up first on Saturday with this sweet family! These two sweet brothers were too cute together! Put Mom and Dad into the picture and everything is complete! The fall colors were a bit hard to find this year due to the drought, however, we hunted them down! Mom’s choice of some great clothing colors helped add to the beauty of the season. Amanda and Matt, thanks for a fun afternoon. You have a great family. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Happy 1st Birthday, Emily!

November 2, 2010

If you love babies and those beyond-cute baby smiles, then look no further! Emily and I met up last week the day after her very first birthday for some portraits to mark the occasion! Mom and I both were a bit worried that nap-time might interfere with the session; but, we shouldn’t have worried. Emily was a little angel and smiled, laughed, and giggled her way through it! I adore her wide-mouthed grin…isn’t it the best?! Love it! Emily, you are a beautiful and precious little girl. Happy first birthday, little one! πŸ™‚

Adam and Meredith…

November 2, 2010

Last week was the “perfect” fall week for outdoor photographs. The weather was fantastic and the landscapes are finally starting to look like fall. Colorful leaves abound and, yet, there are still some pretty flowers in bloom in certain places like the Botanic Gardens. Add in a couple of adorable siblings and you’ve got the perfect combination. Adam is four and is all boy! He loved making jokes and saying silly things just to get me to laugh. His smile is awesome! And, sweet Meredith, the typical cutie-pie little sister. A little bit shy and alot of beauty. Loved working with them and their great mom! It makes a session so much more enjoyable for everyone when the parents come into the session relaxed and just try to enjoy the process! Thanks so much Leslie, Adam, and Meredith for a fun session. Hope you love your sneak peek! Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Mac and Mary Caroline…

October 12, 2010

We all have them. Those days where you just are not yourself and Β you really don’t know why. Poor little Mac was having “one of those days” last week. His mom and I couldn’t quite figure out what was going on. She was saying over and over, “This is just not his normal self”. However, it didn’t stop us! πŸ™‚ The main purpose of this session was to capture Mac at around the same age as I photographed his big sister, Mary Caroline, in my little orange chair. Mac was a champ and pulled through great for those photographs, as you will see below. Oh, and that tough day? Think it was explained by the text I got from his mom about 5 minutes into my drive home after the session. “Mac is fast asleep!” Sweet boy! These children are so beautiful and sweet and I loved working with them, despite having “one of those days”! πŸ™‚ Enjoy their cuteness! Aww, could just eat them up!

Don’t know why, but I love this shot below. Reminds me of a real “old time” photo. Plus their big eyes just melt me!

My buddy, Jackson!

October 12, 2010

I’ve been photographing this darling little dude since he was just days old. I’ve known his Daddy almost my entire life and his sweet and gorgeous Mom has become a great friend! Jackson is ALL boy! Busy, curious, and fun! His Mom told me in my questionnaire, “Jackson has two modes, sleep and run!” I love it! Jackson is a tough kid and a fighter who since his first days as a little preemie newborn he has been endeared to my heart. Jackson, you are getting to be such a big boy. I loved hearing you sing and count in Spanish and talk about the moon! Hope you love your sneak peek! πŸ™‚

Quinn and Currie…

September 28, 2010

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…LOVE photographing sisters! They are just such fun little friends. I always feel like there is a secret going on between them that I am missing out on that happens just between them. These two beauties were no exception. They were just a joy to work with and we had a blast playing around and searching out fun spots. A lovely ending to a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon. These pictures speak for themselves. Not much needs to be said from me. Quinn and Currie, you girls are amazing! Hope you like your photos! πŸ˜‰

The secret language. πŸ™‚

Stunning, aren’t they?

Told you we had fun!
