Jack Garrett and Thomas

April 29, 2010

Sweet boys! Such busy little creatures but, oh my, how they can steal your heart. I know this from personal experience! Jack Garrett and Thomas are 15 month old twins and cute as they can be. They loved seeing all the new things at the Botanic Gardens last week and we had a great time exploring together. We found ducks and geese, flowers, water, and even a fun old hollowed out tree trunk that was the perfect “container” to keep two little boys from running in opposite directions. Thanks for sharing your boys with me. They are just adorable!

Gracie and Caroline

April 26, 2010

Sweet sisters. I’ve said before how much I love photographing sisters. Caroline is such a sweet and patient big sister to little Gracie. I am pretty sure I wasn’t ever that sweet to my little sister at that age! 😉 Little Gracie wasn’t feeling so hot that day and Caroline had such patience with her. I love these two and their fantastic parents. They are adorable and I just wanted to eat them up! Such fun! Thanks for sharing your girls with me. They are a gift!

I love this! You’ll recognize beautiful Nora. She is the lovely little one at the top of my blog header in the white dress with lavender flowers that were taken last spring. It’s hard to believe how much she has grown in a year. Having photographed Miss Nora several times before, I have learned that she isn’t necessarily a huge “smiler” (is that even a word?!). But, I have learned, if we keep at it we can end up with some gorgeous images for her awesome Mom and Dad. If you are a fan of ours on Facebook, then you might’ve seen this story on my page there. Nora’s mom wrote to me, “When we got in the car yesterday after the session, Nora said: ‘Miss Julie has patient with me’.” I love it! But, that isn’t hard to do knowing that I’ll eventually end up with images like this! Thanks, Nora, for letting me play with you and for the big smile you bring to my face! 🙂

Drew & Lily

April 20, 2010

What a picture of love and family these two are! One of the unique things about my job, among many, is getting a little glimpse into the lives of my customers. I get to know them better, their stories, what makes their children laugh, what their child looks like with that special “look” on their face that only a Mom would recognize. Lily and Drew are so beautiful. I loved working with them. I love the story of their family. These two children have one amazing mom. Karen, I hope these will make you smile. You wanted “some pics of them before they are in high school”. HA! Love it…think we’ve got you covered. Thanks for sharing your children with me.

Lacy & Lexi

April 15, 2010

I love photographing sisters. Their relationship is such a unique opportunity to capture on film. I’ve photographed Miss Lacy before and was thrilled to be asked to capture some of her with new sis, Lexi. Such beautiful girls on a beautiful Spring day. So sad that it was my last day of shooting in the glorious tulips. I *heart* the tulips!! So sad we can’t have them year round. But, I assume, that I wouldn’t appreciate them so much if that was the case!

Don’t these ladies have the most amazing eyes? Ohh, their poor Daddy will be in trouble someday! 😉

Evan and Family…

April 15, 2010

Evan is such a cute little dude! He just brought a smile to my face with everything he did. Such fun to photograph a busy and happy little guy! Mom and Dad, we did good! Enjoy!

He loved looking at the birds and talking about animals. Such a smart kid! Captured a sweet moment with momma…

Loved that his Mom thought to bring the rainboots for a few shots while feeding the fish. Thanks, Evan, for such a fun day at “work”!

I am loving this! When I first started my business years ago, I had the joy of photographing this beautiful little girl’s momma for her senior portraits! What an honor and privilege to be asked to photograph her little girl’s one year old birthday pictures! I’ve come full circle with this one. Miss Izzy is a doll-baby and we had such a great time walking around the Botanic Gardens the other day. She has such a sweet smile and I really loved how she would hold up her little finger to show me that she was “1”! Hope you like the Sneak Peak, Molly! So many more to choose from. Izzy is adorable. 🙂

Last week I think I should’ve just brought a sleeping bag and camped out at the Botanic Gardens! I had the joy of photographing three very stylish families and using every last bit of the colors of spring in our portrait sessions. The colors this spring have been so beautiful and the clothing choices these families made were just the icing on the cake to balance them out and make the images pop!

The first family is one of our closest friends! The mom is crazy-talented in so many areas. Would you believe she sewed the dress on her daughter as well as fashioning the little outfit on the smallest brother out of a shirt her husband wore on their honeymoon? I know…amazing!  I call her “Martha”–ha, ha!  If I didn’t love her so much, I’d hate her! 🙂 Jen, you asked for “portraits of the kids loving on each other and having fun”. I think we definitely accomplished that! You have a beautiful family and we are so happy to have you in our lives!

I just adore this one! Makes my heart happy to see it!

Friday morning I photographed two families back to back. Each had a brother/sister pair! The first set was a little older which is always such fun for me. I love that my job is never that same day to day. Lily and Daniel were so much fun to hang with and had superb wardrobe selections. The entire family just smiled and had a good time during the session. That’s really what it is all about anyways. If you are able to relax and have fun at the portrait session, then we inevitably end up with images like these. Thanks, Lily and Daniel for starting off my Easter weekend with a smile!

And, this one, ahhh!! LOVE!! So sweet…

After Lily and Daniel, came another Lily and her big brother Michael. So precious. I loved working with this fun family. They were just gorgeous and a joy to be around. Again, Lily and Michael’s Mom did a fabulous job picking out her family’s clothing choices and they ROCKED it!

These last two make me catch my breath…simply beautiful children…inside and out! 🙂
