When I was a little girl, I remember at family functions my Grandmother would pause and look around the room at our big family. She would then look over at my Grandfather and say something along the lines of “Honey, will you look at what we have done?” She was so proud of all of us and she loved that it all started just because her and my grandfather fell in love. I couldn’t help but to think of that when I was photographing this family last week. All because these two right here fell in love:

All of this happened! I know that they are so VERY proud of their family!

I had such a wonderful time hanging out with all of them. You’ll probably recognize my little friends Matthew and Lainey and their awesome parents. I so enjoyed getting to meet the rest of the “T” family the other night. Truly some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They just laughed and had fun together! Can’t ask for anything more than that. I hope you all love your little sneak peak. So many more great ones to come! 🙂

A few with the entire bunch:

And, my sweeties Matthew and Lainey…

Such a lovely family…have I said that yet? 🙂 Thanks, y’all!

Beautiful Taylor…

November 14, 2011

I just love this time of year! The leaves are changing, the weather is beautiful, and pretty little girls start showing up at my photo sessions with their Christmas dresses on! That can only mean one thing, Christmas is around the corner! 🙂 I met up with 3-year-old Taylor and her fun parents the other morning at the Botanic Gardens. It was one of those rather chilly Fall mornings and poor Taylor was freezing! It took a while for her to “warm up”, poor baby girl. Once we got her mind off of her being so cold, we ended up with some fun photos, great smiles, and pensive big-eyed looks that I just love. Sweet girl! Enjoy!

Oh, you know the romantic in me in just LOVING this session! I was contacted by Mrs.Shelia after she saw some photos I had done for her grandson’s senior portraits. She wanted to know if I might consider doing a session with her and her husband, Mr.Ronald. She wanted to have something special to give to her children. She wanted to celebrate 48 years of being married!! Wow! That is amazing. She wanted to celebrate the love that she and her husband share and that God has been so good to them. I LOVE IT! And, I just loved these two. Reminded me so very much of my sweet grandparents who are no longer with me. I just adore a good love story, and this absolutely is one! Mrs.Shelia and Mr.Ronald….congratulations on 48 years! What a special accomplishment! It was plain to see how much you both care for each other. Love is such a gift! :)”Every good and perfect gift comes from above.” James 1:17

Their cute little dog, Lily, joined us for a few. What a sweetie!

I have to explain this last one, because I just think this is the best idea! Mrs.Shelia brought along a photograph that they had taken the day of their wedding as they were leaving the church. They were getting into their “get-away car” and the photographer captured a photo much like the one below. She wanted to try and re-create that same pose…48 years later! I think they look great! I would never have guessed 48 years have passed. Thanks again for allowing me to share in this moment! 🙂

Houston and Campbell…

November 2, 2011

It is always a bittersweet session when I do the final installment of a Little Gifts Newborn Club. Saturday, it was sweet Campbell’s turn for her “1 year” session. It’s so hard to believe that in a little more than a year, she has gone from this:

To this!

Sweet, sweet baby girl! Campbell shared this session with her very thoughtful big brother, Houston. I was so excited to see these two together. I have so enjoyed working with this wonderful family for the past four years. It is such a joy to share in these special memories. I hope you love what you see here, Bronwen and Alan. I adore your sweet children. Thank you for sharing them with me year after year! Enjoy! 🙂

Tripp, Mary Kate and Family!

November 2, 2011

It seems like it was just yesterday that I was at this family’s home to photograph little Tripp at just a few days old. And, now he is sitting and smiling, and bringing along the entire family for a photo session! I can’t believe how big this little guy is getting! So sweet and fun. We captured some of him for his 6 month portraits, but also included his big sister, Mary Kate, too. And, Mom and Dad got in on the fun as well. I am so pleased with how great these turned out. I am just in love with these little ones’ eyes. They are absolutely STUNNING! Wow!! And, no wonder, look how gorgeous their mom and dad are! Thank you so much “G” family for another great session. I hope you love what you see here…more heading your way soon. Enjoy! 🙂

I hate to repeat myself, but…hello!! Gorgeous eyes, y’all! 🙂

Davidson, Harry and Mac…

November 2, 2011

A crisp fall morning+3 energetic little boys=Loads of Fun!! I had such a ball running around with these three absolutely gorgeous little boys! Davidson and Harry, the two oldest brothers, and I go way back! We are old friends and have done many sessions together. This time they brought along their “new” little brother, Mr. Mac! This is by far my favorite session I’ve done with this family. We did the session on the campus of Rhodes College. It was a “full circle” type of moment for the mom as she went to Rhodes as a student and also had her Bridal Portraits done there as well. I love that! The boys were SO good! I was so very proud of them as it takes a lot of patience on each of their parts to get three little boys to be still enough for a photograph! But, we got more than just one. We ended up with so many cute ones of the 3 of them. I’m super excited to share them. “A” family, your boys are awesome and I just love them. Thank you for continuing to trust me with your family’s photographs year after year. Enjoy! 🙂

Wow! This family is SO beautiful and SO much fun! We met up this past Saturday morning on the ahh-mazing campus of Rhodes College, and enjoyed some of the most dazzling fall color we’ve seen in quite some time. Amy, the mom, did such a wonderful job in picking out clothing that stood out, yet beautifully complimented the colors of the season, and everything just came together to make for some beautiful photographs. I loved these children! So charming, funny, and just absolutely adorable in every aspect. They kept me smiling and laughing the entire time…just like we were old friends! “K” family, thank you so much for sharing your family with me. I hope you love your sneak peek! So many more to come! 🙂

Saturday was absolutely an amazingly beautiful fall day here and the perfect opportunity to complete our last Mini Session of 2011! We started out early in the morning and went straight through until lunch! I was blessed enough to have my sweet mom along as my helper this time and so enjoyed working with her!! And, as always, our 1:17 families came dressed to impress, with smiles and happy attitudes, and knocked these sessions out of the park! I am thrilled with our results and happy to share the sneak peek! Hang on tight…lots of cuteness heading your way! Thanks for a wonderful day everyone! 🙂

Hollis, Anders and Neely…

October 14, 2011

Oh, joy! Take a look at these sweet babies! Meet 3-year-old twins Hollis and Anders and their sweet baby sister, little 10-month-old Neely. I haven’t seen the twins in a couple of years and had never met little Neely, so it was such fun seeing them “all grown up” and meeting their sweet new addition. Three little ones ages 3 and under can sometimes be challenging, but these three sweet ones came along with plenty of helpers and lots of smiles! We made it work and I am thrilled with our results. Sara, thank you for sharing your precious loves with me. I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek! 🙂

Sweet little Hollis…love her cutie-pie grin! And, the brother of the group, adorable Anders…

And, sweet baby girl Neely…

Sadie Ann and Family…

October 14, 2011

I look forward to this session every year! Meet gorgeous Sadie Ann…my little model! 🙂 I think she has just as much fun as I do at this yearly event. This girl simply cannot take a bad photo and she comes ready to play and laugh and just enjoy our time together. She always brings along her parents for a few family shots, too. And, it’s easy to see where Sadie Ann gets her gorgeous looks. Sadie Ann’s mom is Amy Wells, the brilliant jewelry designer who makes all the photo jewelry that we sell here at 1:17 Photography. If you haven’t looked recently at our fabulous jewelry offerings, stop what you are doing right now and go on over to take a look! Just follow the link! Also, take a moment to look at Amy’s fabulous offerings, too. Her work is amazing! But for now, enjoy this little sneak peek at sweet Sadie Ann and her parents! 🙂
