This week I had the joy of photographing little 4-month-old Lily, along with her proud big sister, Brianna and very beautiful Momma. Lily is a new member of our Little Gifts Newborn Club, so you will be seeing her sweet face several times this year! 🙂 YAY! The backdrop of our session could not have been much better. We utilized the burst of early Spring color at the Botanic Gardens and it was just a perfect accent to these beautiful girls! I am looking forward to watching you grow, sweet Lily! 🙂

Sweet little Lily!
March 9, 2012Welcome, Daniel!
February 7, 2012Sweet little Daniel has joined this precious family and now these two proud parents have three handsome sons and one beautiful little girl! Following in the footsteps of previous photo sessions of her first three children, Daniel’s mom requested that we mostly do black and white photographs on a black backdrop so that they would match. It was fun to do something different than my “normal” newborn session and took me back to my early days of my photography career when I used this backdrop for almost every indoor session that I did. Daniel is gorgeous and his siblings were SO good for their photos with him. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with you guys. Congratulations on your precious baby boy! I’m so happy for you all! 🙂
Welcome, Lilly and Joseph!
January 30, 2012WOW! Ya’ll are going to love this one. I am quite sure of it! This is the stuff that dreams are made from and tangible proof that God answers our prayers! 🙂
One month ago, this sweet family was a family of two, a precious married couple longing to fill their home with children. Fast forward one month, and you’ve got an instant family of 4 through the power of prayer and the miracle of adoption! Meet Lilly, age 4 and Joseph, only about 3 weeks “new”! Aren’t they just absolutely beautiful? These two adorable children are not only instant brother and sister, but also sweet son and daughter to Scotty and Allison. First Lilly came home to live with Scotty and Allison, and then a couple of weeks later, little Joseph was born and he made his journey home, too. There’s much to both of their stories of how each one came to be a part of Scotty and Allison’s lives; however, I don’t really think that is as important as the stories they have yet to be written. Stories of a beautiful God-given family that has only just begun.
I love the joy in Lilly’s face in all of these photos! Such happiness! And, look at Mr. Joseph! Not quite three-weeks-old and he was bright-eyed, alert, and holding his head up more than almost any newborn I have ever photographed. It was such a joy to be with this family and capture their first few days together. Scotty and Allison, your family is simply perfect. Congratulations! 🙂
Lovely Miss little Lilly…
Too cute not to share!
January 25, 2012As a photographer, there’s always a few things that can make you a little anxious about a photo session. Getting notice that you have an evening with a family of five children ages 6 and under can definitely cause a little heart flutter! 🙂 But, when I read the next line that the session was with one of my favorite 1:17 families, all those worries went away. Meet Beth and John and their simply precious family. John is a pastor in Memphis at a local church, and he and his sweet wife, Beth have adopted all 5 of these adorable children. I first photographed them when their oldest was barely a year old…and now here they are with an entire house FULL of joy! 🙂 Their story is such a beautiful one and a true picture of God’s grace and of His love for us. I just ADORE them! These photos were not originally posted last Fall when we took them because they were intended for the family’s Christmas card. John, Beth and I were beyond thrilled with how wonderful the children were that evening and we all just fell in love with this session! So happy to share this family with you! Enjoy! 🙂
Jodie and her family!
January 25, 2012I’m playing a bit of “catch-up” today and wanted to blog a couple of families that didn’t get posted last Fall when I photographed them. First up, is my fabulous assistant and beautiful sister-in-law’s family…Jodie! Jodie and my “little” brother, Jeff, had their first family portrait taken by me since their oldest was six-months-old…she is now six! 🙂 These weren’t posted earlier becuase they were to be a fun Christmas surprise for the Grandparents. I love this family so very much! Happy to finally share their cutenss and love! Here’s Jeff, Jodie, Kinley, Kallen and little Graham!
Welcome, Ingrid Mae!
January 20, 2012Tis the season for newborns! It’s been a wonderful last few weeks filled with lots of sweetness. This week, little Ingrid’s turn! This little girl is already full of surprises and fun! The day that I was there, she was obviously dreaming about something just amazing because the dream was vivid enough for her that her eyes kept opening and she smiled away…all while sound asleep. It was so fun to watch! 🙂 And, I, of course, loved the opportunity to capture some adorable little newborn smiles. LOVE!
Oh, how I love it when a newborn focuses right on my camera with their eyes wide open! Isn’t she just beautiful?
This sweet family is going to be busy the next few years! 🙂 Ingrid’s big brother just turned 18-months-old, and is just as gorgeous as his new little sister.
Finally, a couple of family shots. Needless to say, trying to get a 5-day-old and an 18-month-old to cooperate at a portrait session is a bit challenging. But, I love our results. First a black and white. I love the expressions on the kids’ faces. It is like she is already enthralled with her brother! 🙂
Megan and Tim, your family is just adorable. So happy for you! Congratulations!
Brooks is Sitting and Smiling!
January 17, 2012Look at this big guy! He has gone from this:
To this in just a matter of a few short months! I know if it is happening fast to me it must be moving at lightning speed for his Mom and Dad!
One of the great things about working with a family for several years is that we learn to trust one another. When Brooks’ mom asked me if I’d be willing to do his Sit ‘n’ Smile session outdoors in January, I must admit that I was a little worried. But, at the same time I knew that his Mom would show up in something perfect for the season and absolutely adorable. And, thanks to some unseasonably warmer weather this January, the temperatures weren’t nearly as bad as they could have been. Still quite chilly and windy, but not intolerable. Brooks and big brother, Cohen, did an awesome job toughing it out in the cold winter day and rocked their session. I just love this family and hope that they are as pleased with our winter results as I was! 🙂 Enjoy!
And, my favorite shot of the day! Just love these little giggle grins!
Madison, Andrew, Megan and Nicole…
November 14, 2011If you were in Memphis this past weekend, you will know what I am talking about when I mention the CRAZY winds we had all weekend long. These winds were so strong and gusty! I had this session planned for months with my next door neighbor and good friend, Kim, and wasn’t about to let some wind get in my way. Wind can be quite a challenge when four of the six people you are photographing have beautiful long hair! 🙂  But…We did it! We somehow managed to hide out among the buildings in the Arlington Town Square, and captured some awesome photos of this great family! Believe it or not, I had a really tough time picking which ones to blog there are so many great ones. I am so blessed to have such great neighbors! Take a look at this amazing family…
Hampton is Two! And…Beau has arrived!
November 14, 2011Wow! What an exciting time for my sweet friends Katie and Jeremy! They just welcomed their fourth child, little Beau, into their family just about two weeks ago. I have had the joy of photographing Katie’s first two children on their 2-year-old birthdays in their little white outfits. This year, it was Mr.Hampton’s turn.
Â
So after we finished up with little Hamp, we made our best attempt at a new family photo! I just love this family so much and couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations to all of you! I just know there are so many fun memories to be made with your fun family of four! 🙂
“Sisters, Sisters”…
November 14, 2011It’s almost Christmas time and when thinking of titles for this blog post about two sisters and their families, I immediately thought of that song from the movie “White Christmas” entitled “Sisters”! Love that song as it makes me smile! Just like these two families make me smile, too. I had the pleasure of photographing two sisters and their families this weekend at their parents fantastic home! Seriously a photographer’s dream. And it didn’t hurt that the families were just sweet, charming and gorgeous! First up for the day was my first time to photograph little 8-month-old Sophie! So petite and dainty and stinkin’ adorable. I loved her sweet smile! And, add in her beautiful mom and dad and you get magic! 🙂
And once I finished with the first gorgeous family, the second beautiful family arrived with Sophie’s cousins Kaitlyn and A.J. We quickly snapped a few of the three cousins together. It’s pretty amazing that these two little baby cousins are only 2.5 weeks apart! Love it! 🙂
I last photographed Kaitlyn and A.J. when little A.J. was a newborn. I cannot believe what a big boy he has become! I just love this fun family and always enjoy spending time with them. I love the colors in their photos and am so very happy with the results. Love!! 🙂
