Matt and Lacey…

June 21, 2013

Oh, how I adore this family! For those of you who do not know, I used to teach school before I was a photographer. Years ago, at Bartlett Elementary I was a young and scared new teacher. There were so many kind ladies there who took me under their wings, taught me the ropes, and whom I was privileged to call my friends. One such friend was Matt and Lacey’s mom, Lee. Even though I’ve not been at that school in many years, Lee and I have remained friends. It was such an honor for her to contact me and ask me to photograph some milestone events for her two children. For Matt, these are his senior portraits and for Lacey, she just turned 13! These are AMAZING kids!! Matt, who is about to start his senior year at Arlington High School, is awesome. He plays on the football team, takes honors classes, an Eagle scout, and dreams of attending University of Alabama next year! He and his Dad spent six years rebuilding his car(pictures below). That car is sooo cool! And, Miss Lacey, is just a stunner. She has such a sweet smile, and is obviously the one in the family who can easily make everyone laugh. This brother/sister duo is one that I hope my two children can be like in the future. I am so proud of these children, and very proud of my friends Lee and Bruce. They’ve done an awesome job in raising up two amazing children. Matt and Lacey, thanks for making my night so much fun. Enjoy your sneak peek! Soooo many more to come!  Untitled-1 Untitled-2

Awaiting Avery…

June 21, 2013

Hello, gorgeous!! 🙂 Meet Rebecca and Brian…a beautiful couple and so much fun! I’ve known these two for many years as Rebecca and my husband have worked together for a long time. She tries her best to keep him in line at the office-hard job, I am sure!! 🙂 I was honored that they asked me to capture some moments for them of their last few weeks as a party of two. Miss Avery will be arriving very soon, and this sweet family will suddenly become a family of three! I cannot wait to meet her. I can only imagine how beautiful she will be, and my bet is on her eyes to be stunning. If she takes after either Mom or Dad, she will be set! Plus, they’ve both got great smiles and lots of laughter-a very good place to be born into, Miss Avery! Congratulations to you, Rebecca and Brian. I am so happy for your family! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Molly Kate, what a little beauty! 🙂 After a couple of rescheduled sessions due to sickness, etc. it was so much fun to see this sweet girl getting so very big! To me, she looks just like her big brothers at this age…only more beautiful…if that’s even possible! I just adore this family, and Molly Kate’s mom is one of my sweetest friendships to develop over the past 8 years in the business. Just love you, Erika! Thank you for sharing your family with me. I am so honored to capture moments like this for you. I hope you love these. Lots more to come soon!  Untitled-1

Clive and his crew…

June 16, 2013

Clive is the CUTEST little puppy I’ve seen in quite some time. He is only a few months old, and is a little English Bulldog. I was soo very excited when Liza contacted me about photographing she and her husband, Kelly, with their new puppy!! Anyone that knows me well, knows how very much I love puppies. And, put together puppies and photography+a gorgeous, loving couple+beautiful summer light…and you’ve got a very happy photographer! 🙂 This was so much fun for me to do. So different from the normal, yet it felt quite the same as chasing around a one-year-old toddler as well. Come here, Clive! Sit Clive! 🙂 I just LOVED it! Thanks again, to you, Liza and Kelly, for sharing your little dude with me. Clive is the best! I’ll babysit anytime. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I’ve known this beautiful and fun family now for about four years. Our sweet girls were in the same Kindergarten class(four years ago!!) and have been in several classes together since that time, and we all live in the same neighborhood. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful neighborhood full of fantastic people! This was my first opportunity to get to photograph them, and it was such fun. Because, I mean…look at them!! How absolutely GORGEOUS are they? I loved the blues against the bright colorful flowers that the Botanic Gardens offers this time of year. So much fun. Thanks for sharing your family with me, Jonathan and Brittney! I hope that you enjoy your little sneak peek…lots more to come and I can’t wait to share them with you. Enjoy!! 🙂

Hailey is Two!!

June 16, 2013

Me: “Where is Hailey? I can’t find Hailey!”

Hailey: ” I’m right hee-ya!!” Laugh, laugh, laugh…giggle, giggle, giggle…look completely adorable!!

This is what is so much fun about two-year-olds, they think that I am super hilarious!! And, they make the absolute cutest little faces when they laugh. I’ve been photographing Miss Hailey since she was just days old, and I just love this little princess. She’s so dainty and polite and agreeable and all-out awesome!! I just loved our session, and how she kept me smiling and in awe of how beautiful she is becoming. Happy birthday to you, sweet girl!! And, thank you, Mom and Dad “V” for continuing to bring your sweet girl to me year after year. She is awesome and I know you are so proud of her! 🙂

Jack is One!!

June 13, 2013

How adorable are these little cheeks? And those two little teeth? And, my personal favorite, the amazing red hair? Love little redheads!! Sweet Jack and his equally sweet Momma met me one morning this week for his first ever professional portraits. He did such a wonderful job, you’d think this kid was a professional! 🙂 Lots of grins and happy faces and lots and lots and lots to singing fun songs to him to make that happen. He loves singing songs! I think I continued singing those fun songs the rest of the day to myself. They just make you happy, right Jack? Hope you guys enjoy this little sneak peek! Thank you for sharing your little “Jackie-Bear” with me!

This is just about as perfect as it could get for a little boy who just turned four and loves trains! I’ve been photographing Jackson since he was just a newborn, and he is just as cute now as he was then…perhaps even more so! He is now turning into such a little man and sooo very talkative. Before, he would be so shy with me, and this week we had the best conversations. He just talked and talked and I absolutely loved it. Could’ve brought him home with me in an instant! 🙂 He loves trains right now, so his very smart Momma decided to do this 4th birthday session at the trains and they all turned out just adorable. He was having the best time. Be sure you scroll all the way down to the end and see the surprise that he got at the very end of our session. A real train came by only feet away from us and he was able to stand and watch them go by. I just ADORE the look of awe on his face. So precious and fleeting and such a smart Mom to capture these moments while she can. Happy birthday to you, Jackson!!  Untitled-2 Untitled-1

I am such a lucky lady!! Just look at what I got to play with on Monday night…this precious girl and her sweet family!

Miller Kate is just gorgeous and what a fun night we had playing dress-up with her! 🙂 Sweet girl didn’t care so very much for being hot and snuggled by the family, but she rallied like all beautiful ladies do and pulled it out for some amazing photos despite the heat! Such a joy to watch these little ones grow up, and I’ve been “watching” her grow since she was in mommy’s tummy! Every session just gets more fun than the last. Can’t wait to see what her mom comes up with for her one year session!! 🙂 Thanks, as always, for sharing your family with me! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Lucas at 18 months…

June 11, 2013

This little man is so funny and like most little boys this age, very busy as well! He was very interested in just about everything but having his photo made. haha! Such is the life when you are 1 1/2 years old! But, he does have a great smile and he really loves to sing. Like in these photos, “If you’re happy and you know it say ‘Hurray!'” Love this cutie and always enjoy spending time with him and his parents. They always make it fun. Esp, when Dad gives me a hard time about putting his son in front of orange flowers…he wanted to know why they cannot be Crimson colored? Roll Tide, right? Thanks for sharing your Lucas with me! Enjoy your sneak peek! 🙂
